Bluegrass Community Hospital honored at annual Kentucky Hospital Association Awards with Quality Award

VERSAIILES, KY. (June 12, 2023) – Bluegrass Community Hospital (BGCH) is proud to announce their recognition as a Quality Award winner at the Kentucky Hospital Association (KHA) Convention in Lexington, Kentucky on May 17 in the Critical Access Hospital category.

The hospital’s work was recognized with their programs in:

• Leader Rounding and the Effects on Patients and Families
• Bedside Shift Report – Leading Organizational Change
• Patient Identification – Use of the PDSA model

According to KHA, the awards are designed to honor hospitals that demonstrate not only a dedication to patient safety, but persistence in going above and beyond what is expected for providing quality care. The reception rewards successful efforts to develop and promote improvements in quality care.

“Quality is a team effort and takes our entire staff,” says Angie Ingram, Senior Nursing Officer of Bluegrass Community Hospital. “Our staff are dedicated to providing high quality, patient centered care to our community. The care is what makes our hospital so special, we get to personally know our patients and families and are proud to be a part of their health journey.”

This award followed Bluegrass Community Hospital’s Lifepoint Health designation as a National Quality Leader, which occurred in late 2022. The hospital remains focused on their quality journey and is continuously looking at process improvements to benefit patients.
