The New Wound Care Center at Bluegrass Community Hospital is now OPEN!

About Us

The Wound Care Center at Bluegrass Community Hospital, located at 360 Amsden Avenue in Versailles, is now open and ready to offer advanced wound care for people living with chronic, non-healing wounds. Bluegrass Community Hospital has partnered with Healogics, the nation’s leading provider of advanced, chronic wound care services.

We offer an evidence-based, systematic approach to advanced wound care. A patient’s individualized treatment plan may include specialized wound dressings, debridement, compression therapy, advanced cellular products and topical growth factors, edema management and/or non-invasive vascular assessment. These treatments are the result of a team approach between the Center’s physicians, nurses and the referring physician. A treatment plan is developed and scheduled based on the patient’s needs. Once treatment is complete, the patient will return to their primary physician to continue routine care.

The Process

Patients may be referred by a physician, health care professional or self referral. The wound care physician will complete a history and physical, order diagnostic tests, if indicated, and determine a plan of care following evidence based guidelines. Treatment will focus on the causation of the wound, co-existing conditions that impact wound healing and topical wound management. The referring provider will be provided patient progress reports and patients will be returned to their care after discharge.
